What they say
When my dad was in his early nineties, he became very ill requiring increasing care at home. My mom was in her late eighties and was unable to care for him and manage her home by herself as she also had health issues. Dad’s desire was to stay in his house until his death but it was impossible for mom to manage this on her own. Carol George was referred to mom by friends to come provide her assistance. Mom was hesitant to have a stranger come into her home, but Carol was never a stranger. From day one she became my mom’s right hand, confidante and dear friend. She helped care for my dad, helped with meals, chores and errands. Carol was professional, reliable, caring and exactly what my mom needed to help her through this difficult time in her life. Carol was also there to help when my mom moved to her retirement home. Mom passed shortly after dad and I will forever be grateful to Carol for caring for my parents so well and being there for my mom.
Carol George worked with my mother in 2019 during her illness and up to her death. My mother was a strong and independent woman and was resistant to any aides in her home. When her illness became more advanced and she knew that she needed assistance Carol came into her life. From the beginning, Carol was professional and treated my mother with care and professionalism. A unique bond was formed and my mother became very fond of Carol and only wanted to be taken care of by her. It became a friendship as well as a caretaker/patient relationship. Carol was always on time, pleasant to be with, and treated my mother with respect. Her illness progressed quickly and Carol did all she good to manage my mother’s pain and keep her as comfortable as possible. The final 24 hours my mother was transferred to an in-house hospice facility. After spending the day with my mom (she was not fully conscious) my sister and I left for home. Carol was planning to go to see her at the hospice after she finished with another client. She had difficulty finding the facility and was concerned that she would not get to see my mother. However, true to form, she made it there and my mom passed with Carol there. My sister and I were convinced that mom waited for Carol to arrive and then passed in peace. Any family that employs Carol to work with them will be very pleased.
